Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are delighted to share an exciting and educational opportunity for our students at Lansdale Catholic High School. As part of our commitment to providing enriching experiences, and through the generosity of the Ambassador’s Fund for Catholic Education, we will be taking a trip to watch the movie "Cabrini." This is an exciting opportunity for all our Archdiocesan High Schools with transportation and tickets provided. Teachers and the school administration will also be attending as chaperones, and we are honored to be member of this important experience.
Movie Overview: "Cabrini" is a powerful film that tells the inspiring story of Italian immigrant Francesca Cabrini. Witnessing the dire conditions of disease and poverty in the slums of New York, Mother Cabrini embarks on a daring journey. Her mission is to persuade a hostile mayor to provide housing and healthcare for hundreds of Italian orphaned children along with convincing Pope Leo XIII and Archbishop Michael Corrigan that a religious woman on a mission possessed the capabilities beyond anyone’s expectations. It is a narrative of great hope, resilience, and the transformative impact of one person's dedication to making a positive change in the world.
Educational Value: Our decision to include this movie in our educational program is rooted in its potential to inspire meaningful discussions and reflections on important themes. We believe that "Cabrini" offers valuable lessons about empathy, compassion, empowerment of women, and the ability of individuals to bring positive change to their communities.
We appreciate the support of the Ambassador’s Fund for Catholic Education in making educational experiences like these possible for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us. We look forward to a meaningful and enlightening field trip experience for all.
Sincerely,
|
