This year, Homecoming Week falls on the same week as the 75th Anniversary of Lansdale Catholic, and LC will aim to raise $75,000 through a Three-Days-of-Giving Campaign in honor of this milestone. The anniversary appeal, which will begin on October 1, the Feast of St. Thérèse of Lisieux (LC's Patroness), will help collect some baseline funding for exciting future projects and support the Crusader Fund as we continue to grow. While the majority of our 75th Anniversary appeal fundraising will support project funding, the majority of our Homecoming Court's fundraising will be directed to the Crusader Compassion Fund.
The Crusader Compassion Fund is an emergency fund set aside to help LC families who experience unanticipated hardships during the current school year, specifically student medical crises and serious illnesses or deaths in LC students’ immediate families.
LC families have been identified as some of the recipients of this compassion in 2024-2025, including the family of John Gendek ’28, an LC freshman who is battling brain cancer, and the family of a recent graduate, Kameron Schmidt ’23, who is serving as a bone marrow donor this week for his brother suffering from leukemia. Some of this funding will be distributed this fall and some will be put on reserve for future emergencies that LC families face throughout the school year.
We now challenge our Class of 2025 Homecoming Court to lead the way as we prepare to celebrate our 75th Anniversary. Let’s move LC into the future and spread our love and compassion to families in our own LC community who are currently facing difficult times.
Support your favorite candidate with a donation today, and best wishes to our Class of 2025 Homecoming Court!
